The Position:
Reporting to the Chief Platform Architect, this position involves planning, updating, and maintaining security measures, defences, and counteractions to stop and avoid internal and external occurrences on computer systems. As an operation security engineer, you will be responsible for the security of the Infrastructure and services consumed and provided by the company. You will lead the security improvements and incident response work, ensuring that different occurrences are focused on completion and that the correct resources are brought into line to provide the total quality of the company’s security response system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular infrastructure configuration and vulnerability scans and manage the resolution of threats (vulnerability management)
  • Develop and maintain security monitoring (SIEM), logging and auditing (developing new SIEM controls/rules for better IoC (Indicators of Compromise) detection (Detection engineering))
  • Coordinate teams in case of an incident. (Incident Handling and Response).
  • Be involved in different security projects (Threat Hunting, Reconnaissance assessment, Phishing campaigns)
  • Managing the required security patches and updates for a wide range of applications.
  • Monitor system security relating to resilience, malware intrusion, and patching.
  • Conduct periodic user access control verifications.
  • Assess technical controls and identify areas of improvement.
  • Serve as technical security leads for large complex projects that involve cross-functional teams.
  • Be involved and support other team members in penetration testing exercises.
  • Support other teams in assessing Software as a Service (SaaS) products and fulfill the requirements for security compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR)
  • Work together with the Application Security Engineers to define and implement the best practices related to defense.
  • Automate all the routine tasks related to the reporting and monitoring
  • Responsible for all the systems credentials management and the policies related to these.

Knowledge and experience

  • Must have
  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with an emphasis on security control
  • 2+ years of experience in AWS (Security Services)
  • 2+ years of experience in a software company, supporting or leading secure operations
  • 1+ years of experience in managing the deployment of cybersecurity compensating controls such as monitoring, patching, segmentation, whitelisting, firewalls, etc.
  • Knowing the threat assessment tools, skills, and procedures
  • Proficiency in planning secure networks, computer systems, and application architectures
  • Experience in managing Linux/Unix Operating systems
  • Experience in Python scripting
  • The capability in anti-virus software, interruption recognition, firewalls, and content filters
  • Nice to have
  • Work experience in Single Sign-On using SAML and SCIM provisioning
  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty Certification
  • Work experience in AWS Organization, AWS IAM, AWS Security Hub, AWS WAF, Amazon GuardDuty, AWS Config, and AWS System Manager
  • Work experience in SIEM technologies (Elastic SIEM, Splunk, Logrhythm)
  • Certificate in the field of Security Operations. Such as SSCP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, and OSCP.
  • Have experience in security auditing (ISO 27001).
  • Be able to maintain the log system for various kinds of cyber-attacks on the organizational network.
  • Experience leading global IT or OT projects or initiatives and deployments
