General Summary:
As a member of Qualcomm’s Employee Communications team, you’ll help inform, connect, engage, and inspire our global workforce through impactful and creative messaging, events, and programs. Utilizing various channels and digital tools, you’ll drive employees’ understanding of our technology, strategy, and organization, and foster connections between employees, leaders, and the community. You’ll also help build company pride by showcasing our impact on the industry and people’s lives.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Employee Communications or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 7+ years of Employee Communications or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of Employee Communications or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
7+ years of work experience in Employee Communications.
1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Director level and above).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategic internal communication plans that: promote understanding of business purpose, priorities, and key initiatives; address unique stakeholder groups; support organizational change and other change management initiatives; foster employee connections to the company, leaders, and each other.
Applies strong knowledge of business issues and organizational structures to serve as a strategic business partner and provide counsel to functional and business teams and leaders effectively connecting internal communications work to the company’s strategic vision and priorities.
Applies strong knowledge of best practices for internal communications delivery methods and cadence, and analyzes and understands target audiences, anticipates reactions, and tailors messaging accordingly.
Creates and edits compelling, impactful, clear, and succinct messaging for various mediums, including email messages, presentations, video scripts, FAQs, leadership talking points, news articles and newsletters, and intranet content, and utilizes various channels and digital tools for message distribution.
Tracks metrics and assesses the impact of internal communications programs.
Builds knowledge of the Employee Communications field and seeks opportunities for professional growth and development; actively shares knowledge and provides guidance to others.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works under some supervision.
• Provides some supervision/guidance to other members; does not have direct reports.
• Decisions are moderate in nature. Errors are detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships. May require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. Role may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.
• Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. Erroneous decisions, failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and result in the re-allocation of some resources.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Most tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
• Substantial creativity is needed to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives.
• Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.
• Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$101,600.00 - $152,400.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
