Qualcomm’s XR team is seeking a XR Software Engineer Unity to join a talented and innovative team developing the next generation of Augmented and Virtual reality (XR) technologies. The XR Software Engineer for Unity will drive the architecture, development and deployment of the Unity extension of the Snapdragon Spaces toolkit and other future toolkits. Organized according to the best agile methodology, our team is working on essential areas of augmented reality for mobile and future platforms.

At Qualcomm XR Labs Europe we are creating the next generation of toolkits for XR devices that are optimized across hardware and software. In this role you can help creating a product based on Unity’s 3D engine that other developers will use to create their XR experiences. Work with future XR devices ahead of their market introduction and help us wow the developer community.

Responsibilities we’ll trust you with

  • With other developers in mind define, implement and test new features in the Unity portion of the Snapdragon Spaces SDK

  • Expose new functionalities from our perception team within the XR toolkit

  • Work closely with product managers, partner managers and Unity experts on the customer and partner side to understand their requirements and with that directly influence the roadmap of Qualcomm’s XR software stack.

  • Software development from design to coding and testing

  • Build demo experiences and samples using Unity showcasing functionality of the XR toolkit to fellow developers and customers

Skills/Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 3+ years’ experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, C# Java, Python, etc.

  • Applied and proven experience in developing software in general, but especially for Unity (C#)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for software development, writing optimized code and using cutting edge technologies.

  • Worked previously on VR or AR projects or have a solid background in game development

  • Background in computer graphics and associated math and or 3D render engines

  • Previous experience with development for mobile platforms (Android, iOS) or head-worn devices ( Meta Quest, HoloLens, Magic Leap) are a plus

  • Experience in integrating and working with C++ libraries within game engines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
