General Summary:
Qualcomm's Government Technologies (QGOV) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. In this role as a Hardware Engineer, you will support government-sponsored research, development, integration and test of such systems, including adaptation and extension of commercial systems to novel applications and environments, as well as internal development efforts.
The ideal candidate:
- Sets a vision to inspire breakthrough ideas, gains buy-in of senior leaders inside and external to the organization, and builds an implementation strategy to translate new ideas into innovative solutions.
- Leads complex decisions, sometimes with incomplete information, that have implications across functional areas.
- Builds and manages cross-functional teams to seek out, integrate, and interpret various complex information; guides teams to draw sophisticated conclusions about critical business trends and oversees highly complex analyses.
- Leads strategic decisions that balance reasonable risks against rewards and have implications across functional areas and globally.

Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of work experience with RTL ASIC design and embedded system architecture
- Able to define project scope, level of effort, and risks for program, system, and design
- Routinely to break down complex systems into sub systems, and lead a team of designers to create those systems within the unusual constraints that the government space requires
- Initiates and leads technical exchanges with government program managers, government specialists, and warfighters that will be using the gear
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more of the following preferred:
- SystemVerilog expertise across design and verification
- Good understanding of chip-level functional model building
- Knowledge of Behavioral and Structural models and familiarity with simulation environments
- Hands-on experience on validation and debug methodologies, static timing analysis, and timing closure
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Tcl
- Experience with cm tools such as Git and Gerrit.
- Linux OS proficiency
- Some C/C++ programming experience
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$134,800.00 - $202,200.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
