General Summary:

This job position is within Qualcomm Government Technologies (QGOV).

As a trusted and essential partner with the Government we boldly transform their model for strategically and soundly leveraging the commercial curve to aptly serve National Security. Through our expertise and commercial technology reach, we provide game-changing perspectives, strategies, and solutions to enable the DoD to realize critical mission impact. QGOV works directly with DoD partners and with the DoD ecosystem of government, academic, and vendor organizations (including large systems integrators and boutique OEMs/ISV) that provide solutions and capabilities (collectively, referred to as the Defense Industrial Base- DIB). Our focus with the DoD and DIB is to help all understand and leverage advanced commercial technology to enable commercial capabilities to be adapted and deployed at commercial pace in support of DoD missions. This position will provide leadership to the Mission Engagement team within QGOV and will focus on building strong relationships with both the DoD and the DIB driving to enable the DOD to move from vision and prototype to fielded mission advantage. The responsibilities of this position will include developing business that enables the DoD to leverage advanced commercial technology in support of DoD missions. A strong understanding of DoD missions and programs and commercial wireless technologies is required as well as understanding of the business and product management processes needed to enable foundational technology to be applied at scale for DoD needs.

Job Description

The primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

Strategic Mission Knowledge

· Understanding the DoD their strategic objectives

· Understanding the mission context, needs, use cases, burdens, and worries of DoD stakeholders

· Identifying key DoD strategies and opportunities that can benefit from leveraging Qualcomm technology

· Deepening QGOV’s collective knowledge of the DoD

QGOV Mission and Approach

· Understanding the approach that QGOV takes to help the DoD and DIB leverage commercial innovation at market pace

· Applying this approach to engagements with the DoD and DIB

· Working on QGOV’s strategy and achieving strategic objectives

DoD and DIB Relationships

· Identifying and developing key DoD and DIB relationships

· Understanding the DoD and DIB landscape, their programs and products and areas where QC technology applies

· Establishing engagements with DIB organizations that enable their understanding and appreciation of the value of leveraging commercial technology for DoD missions

Impact for DoD and Value for Qualcomm

· Identifying opportunities where mission impact can be achieved for the DoD while at the same time realizing Qualcomm value

· Establishing contracts/ programs with DoD and DIB to explore and enable adaptation, productization, fielding and support of DoD capabilities using Qualcomm technology

Commercial Knowledge

· Staying up to date on Qualcomm’s tech strategy and business models

· Tracking Qualcomm’s One Technology roadmap

· Translating Qualcomm’s technologies to DoD and DIB needs

Internal Qualcomm Relationships

· Collaborating across QGOV and Qualcomm (internal cross-functional stakeholders)

· Engaging in the translation of the Qualcomm ecosystem processes to the DoD ecosystem processes

· Communications – The ability to communicate effectively across a variety of mediums. This includes strong writing skills, and the ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations and, especially, executive level and public speaking skills.

· Mentoring and Coaching - The ability to develop, coach, and mentor associates. This includes the ability to provide development experiences and network opportunities, advise, and teach to prepare associates for effective job performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

· US Citizenship (required).

· Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering or Computer Science preferred.

· Active Security Clearance.

· 15+ years of experience in DoD or other Government organizations/ related business.

· Strong understanding of DoD and DIB organizations and their programs.

· Experience in leading discussions and interfacing at senior levels of the DoD and DIB.

· Demonstrated strategic thinking based on understanding and connections within the DoD and DIB.

· 5+ years of experience in wireless technology.

· Experience with leading a business or product management team to bring products and services to the market.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Proven ability to execute to strategic objectives based on a methodical approach.

· Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business problems, develop supporting analysis, and present in a clear and simple manner for an executive audience.

· 5+ years of experience leading and managing people and leading in a matrix environment.

· Ability to understand technical aspects of wireless communications sufficiently to discuss approaches and strategies for leveraging technology.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$231,100.00 - $346,700.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
