General Summary:
Qualcomm’s automotive business is looking to hire a Contracts Manager to oversee contract lifecycles, from creation and negotiation to execution and management, to ensure compliance, minimize risks, and align with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and amending contracts, analyzing potential risks, and managing relationships with customers, vendors and partners. Essential skills for this role are strong negotiation, communication, attention to detail, and organizational abilities, along with a solid understanding of contracts administration and management.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, Political Science, or related field.
• 6+ years of Contract Administration experience or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in legal, contracts, or related areas.
• 8+ years of Contract Administration experience.
• 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
• 2+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Guides team to draft, negotiate, administer, and manage a multitude of complex contracts and amendments based on expertise in contract administration procedures, structure, and guidelines.
• Leads the management of complex or important contracts to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations by all parties.
• Guides team to research, analyze, and interpret contracts to develop insights that contribute to business objectives based on advanced knowledge of contract and legal principles.
• Seeks opportunities to inform internal and external parties on Qualcomm's policies and positions related to contracts based on expertise in area.
• Reviews team's responses to requests for information to ensure information is clear, accurate, high-quality, and provided in a timely manner.
• Leads conversations with internal and external stakeholders to understand and clarify needs, share updates, and address complex issues and risks.
• Leads the development and implementation of new and innovative ways to accomplish work and improve existing methods to increase efficiencies across teams; guides others to learn new ways to accomplish work and recommend improvements.
• Analyzes complex contract needs and requirements for one's team to determine time and resources required.
• Manages team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for large and/or multiple projects.
• Makes sound, ethical, and timely decisions, even in complex situations; helps others make effective decisions.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with little supervision.
• Provides supervision to direct reports.
• Decisions are moderate in nature. Errors are detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships. May require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
• Most tasks do not have defined steps; simultaneous use of multiple mental abilities is generally required to determine the best approach; mistakes may result in significant rework.
• Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required.
• Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department. Erroneous decisions, failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules and result in the re-allocation of some resources.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
• Exceptional creativity is needed to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/ processes without established objectives or known parameters.
• Participates in the organization's planning process, interpreting business strategies, establishing strategic plans and objectives for multiple areas and functions. Decisions may affect entire organization.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$125,800.00 - $188,800.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
