As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.

The candidate is going to take responsibility for all storage related (Block/Drivers/Kernel/UEFI) development/Debug on Qualcomm 4G/5G platforms, including new platforms bring up, driver development, working with Linux open source community, joint development/debug with Flash vendors on new features and failures, providing support to CE team for customer issues, validation method definition and implementation, flash validation tools/environments maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Qualcomm new platforms bring up support.
  • Qualcomm platforms Storage driver development and troubleshooting.
  • Linux Kernel && UEFI Storage driver development and troubleshooting.
  • Providing support to internal test teams and CE team on any storage related customer issues/cases.
  • Joint development/debug with Flash vendors on new storage features and/or failures.
  • Flash validation tools/environments development and maintenance.

Job Requirements

  • A background in computer science or in related fields such as electronic information or communication engineering is required.
  • MUST have experience in embedded system software development.
  • Candidates With a background in Storage drivers, familiar with UFS && NVMe, well-versed in the Linux I/O architecture are preferred.
  • Candidates with extensive experience in driver development on Qualcomm platforms are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to drive cross-team collaboration.
  • Expert knowledge of C programming and debugging skills and/or Python.
  • Expert knowledge of data structures, algorithms and operating systems internals.
  • Proficient in Linux BSP and device driver development and debugging.
  • Knowledge of interface protocol of block devices, such as: SCSI, eMMC, UFS, NVMe etc.
  • Conversational knowledge of verbal and written English.
  • Must be able to adapt to the work environment where approximately half of the time is in the lab.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
