General Summary:
Network-on-Chips are the backbone of on-chip communication. Complex SoCs are an assembly of numerous IPs blocks such as display, camera, sound rendering, video codecs, processors and graphic processors, multiple modem technologies for connectivity, WIFI, LTE and 5G. The on-chip interconnect handles the data exchange between these clients and common resources such as external memories, caches, and buffering parts of the SoC infrastructure.
To meet these requirements, more complex IPs are designed and must be delivered quickly with the same high level of quality.
Therefore, QITC is always looking for new methods of verification and flow automation to be able to meet the quality needed to reduce the verification time and improve the delivered IP quality.
The trainee will integrate the QITC R&D team of 9 engineers working on IPs hardware design, verification and tools.
The study case will be for next generation Snapdragon application processor where the trainee may have to interact virtually with worldwide Qualcomm teams in India and United-States, and daily interaction will be with Qualcomm Interconnect Technology Centers in Guyancourt/Sophia Antipolis in France.
For the subject below, the trainee needs to acquire initially a good understanding of the existing technology and tools.
Our ability to deliver highly configurable IPs (logic designs) has been a key to our success those past years. The growing demand in diversified products (compute, smartphones, AI, XR, …) has raised the bar in terms of configurability.
High configurability brings multiplied and longer simulations. Today we are using licensed simulation tools. At first, the trainee would integrate the open-source Verilator simulator in our current flow, expecting a significant
runtime gain.
This shall open new perspectives, especially in AI-driven emerging verification methodologies that would enhance our productivity and increase the quality of our products.
The training period will take place in one of our convivial Guyancourt or Sophia-Antipolis offices. An interaction with other teams will be needed.
