Qualcomm Controllership Team

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant at the Global Accounting Operations Center (GAOC) serves as a strategic partner within Qualcomm’s Controllership Team, leading global closing and reporting activities. This role is responsible for driving excellence in General Ledger, General Accounting, Treasury, Receivables, Cash & Banking, Payments, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and more. The Senior Accountant leverages and experienced in AI, automation, analytics, and audit technologies to optimize accounting operations, ensure financial integrity, and support forward-thinking business initiatives. The ideal candidate will champion intelligent process enhancements and adopt data-driven insights to transform finance operations at scale.

Core General Ledger and Accounting Responsibilities

  • Knowledge in period end closing activates, support consolidation and reporting and enhancements in financial modules (AP, AR and GL)
  • Basic understanding of Hyperion (ARM, DRM & HFM)
  • Experience in Oracle Fusion and EBS Finance(R12). Oracle GL certification would be added advantage (Oracle EBS R12)
  • Knowledge in Oracle Financials in General Ledger, Account Payables, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, Account Receivables and purchasing.
  • Working knowledge in SQL.
  • Setup of Security rules, Cross validation rules and values for Value sets.
  • Resolving the end user task-based tickets based on Priority within SLA.
  • Designing/maintenance of Chart of Accounts, Ledgers, Enterprise Structure (Enterprise, Primary Ledger, Legal Entity, Business Unit, and department)
  • Involved in the functional setup configurations.
  • Prepare and validate Quarterly Reporting Schedules (QRS) and ensure alignment with HFM and Oracle data.
  • Support SOX compliance by preparing documentation and assisting with internal control testing.
  • Provide year-end audit support, including timely submission of financial data and supporting documentation in line with local GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and IT to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in GL operations and reporting workflows.
  • Ability to learn/understand standards & processes quickly and adhere to them accurately
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to HQ and local controllership teams.

AI & Automation Focus Areas

  • Lead RPA and AI-based solutions to streamline accounting workflows.
  • Apply AI for anomaly detection and process optimization across accounting cycles.
  • Use tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel with AI integration for deeper insights.
  • Deliver audit-ready outputs using AI to enhance SOX compliance and process design.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Finance/Accounting with 4+ years’ experience in multi-GAAP, shared services.
  • Proficient in Oracle and SAP GA modules; skilled in leveraging ERP and AI tools.
  • Strong English communication, especially in presenting analytics and AI insights.
  • Quick learner with adaptability to evolving standards, tech, and AI innovations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative, tech-savvy mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Effective communicator and team player in a digital-first environment.
  • Results-driven, comfortable working with performance metrics and automation.
  • Advanced IT skills (Excel, Outlook); experience with AI and analytics platforms.

Preferred: Experience in a large multinational corporation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 4+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
