General Summary:

Qualcomm is recruiting a Senior Director Sales Automotive. This position is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join at a moment where the business is taking off, allowing them to take responsibility Tier 1 leadership role, including managing major Tier1 accounts. Role with focus on Automotive products and services. In this strategic role, you will develop and execute sales plans, build long-term relationships with key executive and working level stockholders at Tier1s, build and maintain a 360 view of the customer across technical and commercial teams including a global view, which will drive current period and long term revenue growth for the Europe business. Your expertise will help shape our market presence in the rapidly evolving automotive industry.

Responsibilities include the logistic and supply chain for major business growth, getting engaged in legal and business frameworks and developing a broad understanding of Qualcomm’s portfolio for Automotive technologies.

The position will take responsibility for European based Tier1s and coordination with OEM account teams.

Tasks:

You will take the account lead of a portfolio consisting of existing projects and opportunities, which are executed around the globe and provide an opportunity to work in a truly international environment, the task involves

  • Identification of business opportunities within focused segments in Automotive

  • Develop and secure a sustainable network at customer at both technical and business teams allowing to get early visibility of new business opportunities

  • Customer relationships at all relevant, functional and personnel levels in order to identify market developments and competitive situations at an early stage and to plan products in new customer projects

  • Work closely with Business Unit Product Management and Regional leadership to:

    • Build strategy and goals for accounts design wins and revenue pipelines

    • Support RFQ and design-in process for new projects

    • conduct price negotiations with finance

    • and drive commercial agreements with legal

  • Support PdM and Engineering with cost analysis for support/NRE and manage respective negotiations with customer.

  • Project set-up and commercial project follow-up from initial sale to SOP to EOL, including supporting milestones, CRs, maintenance etc…

  • Work closely with customer engineering to support ongoing deployment and maintenance of Projects.

  • Manage ongoing forecasting, quotes, invoicing, samples and production ramp-ups, including supply management with operational and logistics teams.

  • First point of contact and trusted partner for questions from the customer together with the assigned team

  • Processing of all relevant regional and international sales topics within the BU and with customers directly

  • Observation of customer trends in terms of application, technical, quantitative and monetary development

  • Regular customer visits or online conferences to carry out design / technical advice, approvals, preparation of offers / price negotiations, ordering / annual and framework purchase agreements, logistics and quality management and customer care

Profile:

  • Bachelor/Master degree Electrical Engineering degree or similar

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in semiconductor Sales, Account Management or Business Development

  • Deep understanding of the European Automotive market ecosystem players and Go to Market channels

  • Very strong interpersonal, communication and fluent negotiation skills in English and preferably German with ability to work in an international multi-cultural context

  • Ability to explain complex technical contents in a convincing fashion appropriate to the level of the business partner

  • Ability to work in an autonomous way, setting the right priorities for Qualcomm business and its customers

  • Management skills allowing managing junior level account lead and acting as a mentor for other junior leads.

  • Require individual to be present in the office for effective teamwork

  • Strong drive internally with Qualcomm Business Units for what he/she needs to make business move forward

  • Ability to interface and deal at all levels of the customer and frequent customer location visits to establish and build relationships.

  • Background in legal and finance sales processes

  • High degree of flexibility, autonomy and motivation, customer focus, business orientation and networking ability are required for this position

  • Good communication and management skills at face to faca and virtual Team meetings
