Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

Qualcomm graphics is the best in the mobile GPU world with the best perf/watt, perf/area and in raw performance. The GPU team has well established RnD teams from Architecture and Design to Post Silicon Validation and Functional Debug in Bangalore. The team delivers on products from the Snapdragon 800 series to the low tier 200 series. You will be joining a successful engineering department whose deliveries can be found in billions of smartphones, wearables.

Based out of Qualcomm’s Bangalore office, this role is for GPU Functional Debug of Final Silicon issues for Snapdragon MSMs. You will be part of GPU system bring -up team and focus on the root cause the real time functional issue observed/reported in Silicon. Pulling on your design knowledge and technical expertise, you solve technical issues in all projects to ensure smooth execution across projects. As part of your role, you will work with Architecture, Design, DV, emulation, SW driver to understand about GPU architecture, design , System level scenario and further use those knowledge for solving GPU functional issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Functional GPU issue reported by internal SW testing or external customers.

  • Participation on the reproduction of the issue in the lab in Windows/Android/Auto platforms and analyzing the symptoms.

  • Building hypothesis based on symptoms of failures, devising experiments to check the hypothesis and arrive at the root cause of the issue

  • Communication to Design, DV, SW, HLM and other teams to advance the root cause, solving the Si issues.

  • Develop new processes and methodologies / tools to improve time to root cause.

  • Taking initiative of enhancing the debug architecture of GPU core.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience working in RTL Design (Micro-Architecture) or Systems experience in GPU or CPU or multimedia IP. Candidates are expected to have experience in:

  • Should have a proven track record to work with multidomain, across site teams.

  • GPU pipeline knowledge is preferred

  • Experience in debugging low level hardware Design issues, and working closely with design, verification, and software simulator teams.

  • Have good understanding of modern SoC architectures.

  • Basics of Power, performance concepts and able to articulate the tradeoffs

  • Exposure to Debug tools like JTAG and kernel debuggers

  • Exposure to at least one of scripting language e.g. Perl, Python, or Java
