Job Overview - Dept Description and Job Duties: The Radio VI/DVT team’s primary function is Bring up, Evaluation, optimization and enhancement of the radio performance of Qualcomm silicon radios. The group consists of multi-disciplined (RF, Analogue, Software and Digital) engineers who work closely with specialist design and systems engineers. This broad base of knowledge is deployed to provide optimal tuning and configuration solutions for radio operation. The role is predominantly lab-based working at circuit, cell, subsystem, and system level.

The BDC Bluetooth RIOG team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT Radio Optimization team in Bangalore. The team will work closely with the BT FW, Systems, and Characterization team across Geos. The Team plays a pivotal role in the developing complex radio/modem features for the company’s Connectivity products. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across engineering disciplines from high level SOC to low-level hardware. Typical tasks for the successful applicant would include:

  • Focusing on all aspects of the silicon design that influence the performance, qualification and test of the connectivity radios, including elements of the embedded firmware for Radio Control and defining the Production Test strategy and test limits for the radio.
  • The individual blocks are verified in isolation before building into a complete radio system to include digits, firmware, and analogue/RF. The Engineer will be assigned to a project and be responsible for the performance and operation of the radio, interfacing directly with analogue and digital designers, systems engineers, and radio control FW engineers to provide a complete radio system solution for verification and validation in characterization over temperature and process skews.
  • The Engineer will be responsible for generating Python/MATLAB test scripts, writing embedded C code for FW radio control, defining radio production test limits, supporting the business group with radio training materials and investigating customer issues and product returns where required.
  • The Engineer is also expected to work on digital emulator platforms, essential knowledge of digital design flow, ability to read and debug RTL code.
  • Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customers
  • Manages project-related activities (e.g., meetings, documentation, deliverables) between their team and other teams working on the same or similar products, operating across locations and time zones.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to troubleshoot radio issues and finds solutions that are documented and shared with internal cross functional teams working on similar products

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

enthusiastic, and reliable individual to form an integral part of our BT Radio Optimization team in

Bangalore. The team will work closely with the BT RFA, FW, Systems, Characterization teams and

colleagues of our team across Geos. The Team plays a pivotal role in supporting development of

complex radio/modem features, validation of them for the company’s Connectivity products from pre-

production samples to commercialization stage and support post commercialization issues. During this

time, the team will be the lead source of system-level RF test data, providing target testing and reports

to R&D teams across the Qualcomm family to inform them of the latest status of each product’s

development evolution against Key Performance Metrics.

Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across the engineering disciplines from

high level SOC to low-level hardware. Typical tasks for the successful applicant would include:

· Development of radio/modem features for BT products

· Developing RF test cases in Python

· Reviewing RF performance data and reporting performance results to a wide audience

· Analysis and support bug fixes during final stages of program to customers

· Communication of status/bugs/issues to leads and other teams within the company.

· Validation, debug of Software and hardware features, testing issues.

· Working with colleagues to optimize automated test solutions.

· Collaborate with cross functional team members to troubleshoot radio issues and finds solutions

that are documented and shared with internal cross functional teams working on similar

products.

· Working with other and leading team members to plan development, testing and maintenance

work

Communication is a key part of the role, and it is most suited to someone with excellent interpersonal

skills who can be an enthusiastic collaborator with colleagues from both inside and outside the

Characterization team. Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree/Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an internationally recognized

institution.

· At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant engineering role
