General Summary:

As the Lead Automotive Software Development Engineer, you will leverage your advanced technical expertise in the Linux/QNX kernel and SoC architecture, along with your strong leadership and project management capabilities, to oversee the development of firmware on Linux and QNX operating system software for Snapdragon Automotive Chipsets.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Over 8 years of industry experience in embedded firmware development, including debugging and performance analysis.
Proven development experience with embedded operating systems such as Linux, QNX, etc.
Understanding of OS internals, storage, peripherals, and interfaces, such as UFS/EMMC, PCIe, SPI/UART/I2C, USB, Ethernet, etc.
Self-starter who takes initiative and demonstrates strong technical leadership
Skilled in writing and debugging both C and assembly languages.
Extensive experience in low-level hardware-software integration.
Understanding secure and safe automotive software architecture design and development, including safety subsystems and monitors,
Experience in defining inter-processor communication interfaces between embedded controllers and the platform.
Exposure to one or more of the following areas is a plus:
Expertise in virtualization technologies.
Experience in developing on the ARMV8 platform
Experience in ISO26262/functional safety and ASPICE.
Experience in working with Automotive Tiers 1/OEMs and commercialization of Automotive hardware/software platforms
Roles/Responsibilities:
Oversee the firmware design, implementation, and verification of BSP in both pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
Develop high-performance drivers to unlock the full potential of the latest generation of Qualcomm CPUs.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across departments to ensure platform capabilities align with product goals.
Optimize and profile system performance to achieve low latency and power efficiency.
Thoroughly review the details to gain a comprehensive understanding of the issues and work towards an effective resolution.
Collaborate with engineers, partners, and customers across various geographies to contribute to the development and support of large-scale SoC software products.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$162,600.00 - $244,000.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
