General Summary:

As a Support Engineer at Qualcomm, you will significantly contribute to our product improvement and work with other Engineers to sustain aspects of our product development life cycle. Support Engineers will also play a critical role in resolving technical system issues that promote product reliability. You will have endless opportunities to learn and grow in the Engineering development space.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one year (Master’s = one year) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.

  • 2+ years of experience with HW, SW, and/or embedded troubleshooting and debugging.

  • 2+ years of experience in a lab environment.

  • 2+ years of experience with QC or other vendor SoC (system-on-Chip) issue debugging.

  • 1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

  • Experience with Lauterbach T32, Android debugging.

  • Good communication and excellent organizational skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of moderately complex software and hardware test with minimal supervision.

  • Write and maintain automation and system profiling scripts.

  • Setup and configure labs and lab setups, and maintain lab equipment.

  • Assists in evaluating complex system performance optimization activities such as profiling system usage, taking & initial analysis for log/dump.

  • Maintains test procedures, configurations, and results.

  • Troubleshoots software and hardware issues during testing phases, proposes solutions.

  • Provides technical support to internal engineering teams, contributing to resolve any test-related challenges.

  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to learning about company products, tools, and testing frameworks

  • Support Proof-of-Concept demo setup with guide from senior engineer.

  • Create engineering build for test / demo

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$34.19 - $51.29

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
