General Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber and Copper Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, terminating, and testing both fiber optic and copper cables. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.Key Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test single mode and multimode fiber optic cables.
Perform fiber splicing and connectorization.
Conduct OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) testing and troubleshooting.
Perform fiber optic cable management and routing.
Maintain and repair fiber optic networks.
Document and report on fiber optic installations and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure project success.
Install, terminate, and test copper cables, including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a.
Perform copper cable management and routing.
Conduct copper cable certification testing using tools such as Fluke testers.
Troubleshoot and repair copper network issues.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Proven experience as a Fiber and Copper Technician or similar role.
Proficiency in using fiber optic and copper testing equipment, such as OTDRs, power meters, and Fluke testers.
Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cable types, connectors, and splicing techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Able to Lift up to 50LBS

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$36.82 - $55.24The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
