As a member of the Human Resources team, you will positively impact Qualcomm’s people and culture of respect and trust. You will play a pivotal role in shaping HR initiatives and projects that deliver services for our business partners across Qualcomm.

Your role will involve listening, advising, coaching, influencing decisions, and conducting unbiased investigations, while acting with integrity and advocating for employees at all levels to enable the business to successfully meet objectives. This role requires frequent collaboration across the organization and thorough knowledge of corporate policies, fair and objective employment practices, and applicable laws and regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leverages highly advanced knowledge of Human Resources (e.g., OD,compensation, employee relations, training and development) best practices, HR policies, procedures, and best practices to deliver large-scale services and resolve complex HR-related issues; coaches other team members to understand and apply advanced concepts to complete tasks. Seeks opportunities to collaborate and develop effective working relationships with key individuals on global HR teams and senior HRBPs to align on business and HR-related goals for successful implementation and execution.
  • Leverages a comprehensive understanding of applicable local and federal employment laws (e.g., wages, hours, labor), industry trends, and advanced knowledge of team and business goals and requirements to support the region for multiple complex workstreams (ER/LR).
  • Collaborates with senior and executive leadership, internal and external counsel, HR teams, and other relevant resources to resolve Employee Relations-related issues effectively and in compliance with local/applicable laws.
  • Manages and collaborates with ER/LR on high-risk investigations and partners with leads on escalated investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, pay equity, interpersonal conflict and/or ethical violations.
  • Collaborates with leadership on the development and implementation of critical ER/HR and LR-related projects and initiatives; exemplifies and encourages respect, dignity, and fairness while cultivating effective working relationships.

Level of Responsibility:

  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
  • Decision-making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.
  • Oversees budgets, schedules, and performance standards for multiple departments or functional areas.
  • Has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.
  • Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • 6+ years of Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization and interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
  • 1+ year of experience working in the technology industry in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English & Japanese. TOEIC 800 or equivalent.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of HR-related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 7+ years of HR-related work experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 9+ years of HR-related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
