General Summary:
About the Role
Qualcomm Korea’s Automotive Customer Engineering Team is seeking a Staff-level Technical Account Manager (TAM) to lead technical engagement with major automotive OEMs and Tier-1s. This role bridges engineering and business by managing customer relationships, driving platform integration success, and supporting commercialization of Qualcomm’s automotive SoCs and software platforms.
The ideal candidate has strong technical depth in embedded systems or automotive electronics, excellent communication skills, and experience interfacing directly with large customers.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Project Management
- Serve as the primary technical interface for automotive customers, including OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
- Identify customer requirements and translate them into internal engineering deliverables.
- Manage product integration roadmaps, milestones, and issue-tracking to ensure successful program launches.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (HW, SW, Product, Sales, PM) to support customer programs.
Technical Leadership
- Understand Qualcomm automotive SoCs, infotainment platforms (Snapdragon Digital Chassis), ADAS solutions, OS/SDKs, and reference designs.
- Engage in system architecture discussions, performance optimization, power management, software integration, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate in technical deep-dive discussions, design reviews, and joint debugging sessions.
Issue Management & Escalation
- Track and prioritize customer-reported issues; ensure timely resolution.
- Work with internal engineering to escalate critical blockers and manage communication back to customers.
- Prepare and deliver technical status reports and risk assessments.
Pre-Sales & Technical Strategy
- Assist business development activities by sharing Qualcomm automotive technologies and solution benefits.
- Collaborate with teams to understand customer needs and help identify suitable chipset/platform options.
- Provide technical input for RFQs/RFIs as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in automotive electronics, embedded systems, or mobile SoC environments.
- Experience working directly with OEMs/Tier-1s and managing customer-facing engineering programs.
- Strong understanding of embedded software, board bring-up, Linux/Android/QNX, BSP/drivers, and ADAS-related software components (e.g., perception, sensor fusion, and control systems).
- Excellent communication skills (English & Korean) and ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder engagements.
- Strong presentation and documentation skills.
Preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience with Qualcomm SoC, ARM-based platforms, or automotive infotainment/ADAS ECUs.
- Knowledge of automotive standards such as functional safety (ISO 26262), AUTOSAR, Ethernet, CAN/LIN.
- Experience in system integration, performance optimization, or HW/SW debugging.
- Ability to analyze logs, debug embedded issues, and guide customers on best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
