As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Candidate will

  • Be a member of Automotive Infotainment customer engineering team

  • Be first point of contact for customer technical issues and questions for display and graphics

  • Collaborate with customers and global internal teams to debug and customize multimedia features, including display bring-up and graphics rendering

  • Analyze and resolve complex system-level multimedia issues

  • Keep abreast of new specifications and customer requirements to influence Qualcomm product developments and example designs.

  • Collaborate with others inside and outside of project team to accomplish project objectives

  • Travel and work at customer sites as needed sometimes

Required Skill and Experience

  • Programming skills in C and C++

  • Embedded software development and debugging

  • Android framework, Automotive Grade Linux, QNX Operating system, Hypervisor

  • Good communication and writing skills in English

  • Knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred:

    • Display (Pixel processing/composition, MIPI DSI, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.), HDCP, Color space conversion

    • Composition/rendering frameworks (Android Surface Flinger, DRM/KMS driver, Weston/Wayland, QNX Screen)

    • Serializers, de-serializers, and bridge chips for display interfaces

    • OpenGL ES, Vulkan, OpenCL, GPU device drivers

    • Triaging and debugging GL application issues

    • GPU Benchmark and Profiler tools

    • Hypervisors, virtualization, and Linux containers

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

  • 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ARM architecture and software development experience In-vehicle infotainment

  • High responsibility and Team Spirit

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Be able to work with colleagues and customers around the world smoothly

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or related

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
