General Summary:

Position Overview
We are seeking a test engineer proficient in Qualcomm Snapdragon Profiler tools, responsible for developing and executing automated test solutions for devices based on the Snapdragon mobile platform. You will be deeply involved in performance analysis, power consumption testing, and system optimization to ensure the reliability and efficiency of chip-level tools on end devices.

Core Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Strategy: Develop, document, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases.
  • Design and maintain automated testing frameworks for Snapdragon Profiler (mainly using Python/Pytest). Develop automated test cases covering core Profiler features:
    • GPU/CPU performance analysis
    • Power and thermal performance testing
    • Real-time hardware counter monitoring
    • Multithreaded/multiprocessor scenario analysis
    • Integration testing with tools such as ADB and Perfetto
  • Dogfooding & Usability Testing: Actively use Snapdragon Profiler in real-world scenarios to emulate customer workflows. Provide critical feedback on usability, feature functionality, and performance from a developer's perspective.
  • Defect Management: Identify, isolate, document, and track defects and regressions with clear and concise reports using JIRA or similar tracking systems. Work closely with development teams to verify fixes.
  • Performance & Stability: Validate the tool's performance metrics, stability under heavy load, and identify underlying performance bottlenecks, compatibility issues, or tool defects exposed during testing of Snapdragon Profiler.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with software developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and quality standards.
  • Continuously optimize testing efficiency and explore cutting-edge solutions such as AI-assisted testing.

Required Skills
Hard Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in mobile device/embedded system testing, familiar with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of power/performance/stability testing methodologies, experience in creating test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
  • Proficient in the Profiler toolchain, including trace analysis, power debugging, and performance tuning chip-level metrics.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, C++)
  • Familiarity with Android development and debugging tools (ADB, Logcat).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in development or testing on Qualcomm chip platforms.
  • Familiarity with Perfetto/Systrace analysis and understanding of GPU rendering pipelines (OpenGL ES, Vulkan) and CPU/GPU architecture.
  • Proficiency in C++/Shell scripting, able to develop low-level debugging tools.
  • Hands-on experience with performance profiling tools (e.g., Snapdragon Profiler, Android Studio Profiler, Xcode, Dimensity Profiler).
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Appium, Selenium, pytest).
  • Previous experience in a "dogfooding" role or developer tools testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Communications, or related fields.
  • Rigorous logic and strong ability to troubleshoot chip tool issues in depth.
  • Good cross-team collaboration awareness, able to drive technical issues to closure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
