As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Master's/bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 1+ to 3years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Development:
- Design and implement embedded applications, middleware, and BSP for sensor systems. Develop and optimize code in C/C++ for single and multi-core processors under RTOS.
- System Integration:
- Integrate and validate sensor drivers and interfaces across multiple firmware layers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues involving sensors and real-time constraints.
- Technical Leadership:
- Own modules and components, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, effort estimation, and risk mitigation for new features.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (hardware, platform, and application) to meet project objectives.
- Provide clear status updates and mentor junior engineers.
- Quality Assurance:
- Perform peer reviews, defect analysis, and continuous process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security and safety standards in embedded systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- : 1 to 3 years in embedded systems development; prior lead experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++ programming.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS (e.g., Zephyr, FreeRTOS) and sensor integration over different frameworks.
- Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M and or RISC-V architectures.
- Familiarity with development and debug environments and chip bring-up.
- Additional Skills:
- Debugging and troubleshooting across multiple firmware layers.
- Understanding of different sensor types and their usage, prior experience on sensor based algo designs (preferred)
- Scripting for debug tools and unit testing (preferred).
- Understanding of digital hardware (Timers, Clocks, PMIC) and peripheral interfaces (I2C/I3C, SPI, UART).
- Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.
Preferred Attributes
- Exposure to firmware development and build systems(CMake, SCONS, Make).
- Experience with wearables or IoT platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
