Overview

Qualcomm is driving the next wave of data center innovation across CPU, AI accelerator, interconnects, and edge-to-cloud systems. As the Product Marketing Director for Japan, you will lead market development, product positioning, and go-to-market execution for Qualcomm’s data center portfolio—partnering closely with regional sales/marketing/engineering and the San Diego BU to accelerate wins with local Cloud service providers , large enterprises and telcos in Japan.

General Summary (Role Purpose)

  • Serve as the Japan lead for data center product marketing, owning market strategy, segment prioritization, value messaging, and competitive positioning.

  • Build executive-level relationships with cloud service providers (CSPs), OEMs/ODMs, and telcos to drive adoption, PoCs, and commercial deployments.

  • Translate customer/partner requirements into actionable inputs for BU roadmap; orchestrate cross-functional execution with Sales, engineering, and BD.

  • Champion Qualcomm’s AI software stack and system architecture narrative to demonstrate advantages vs. GPU-centric approaches for targeted workloads and TCO.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Product Strategy

  • Define Japan data center segment strategy (CSPs, enterprise AI, telco core/edge, Automotive/Robotics back-end) with clear beachheads and annual growth targets.

  • Own portfolio messaging for CPU/GPU/AI accelerator & interconnect architecture at the system design level

  • Articulate Qualcomm’s AI SW stack/framework value to customers—benchmarking workload fit, scalability, and TCO to convince QC advantage over GPU for specific use cases

  • Lead competitive intelligence and price/performance analyses vs. incumbent solutions across major CSPs(AWS/GCP/Azure ete); publish win plans grounded in workload-level benchmarks

Technical Marketing & Solution Design

  • Drive technical storytelling on OS (Linux/Windows), orchestration (Kubernetes etc), virtualization(inc hypervisor), security, system design

  • Partner with Engineering/FAE to shape reference architectures, PoC/benchmark plans, and performance tuning guides (CPU–accelerator balance, interconnect topology, memory BW, container orchestration, multi-tenant isolation, security hardening).

  • Create field-ready content: whitepapers, workload briefs, competitive battlecards, solution blueprints, and executive decks.

Go-to-Market & Pipeline Acceleration

  • Build and manage joint GTM with CSPs/ISVs/SIs; run campaigns/events to generate qualified opportunities.

  • Own pricing & commercial models and support deal reviews based on total solution price/perf and ROI analyses

  • Telco/6G & Edge Collaboration

  • Engage with telco operators and NEPs to position Qualcomm in 6G/advanced 5G core/edge compute

  • Define MEC/edge AI reference designs and roadmap feedback for carrier-grade reliability and orchestration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years in data center/compute product marketing, solution architecture, or technical BD; 5+ years leading cross-functional teams.

  • Proven expertise in system-level architecture: CPU/GPU/AI accelerators、interconnect(PCIe/CXL/NVLink/ethernet fabric ), memory hierarchy, I/O

  • Hands-on understanding of Linux/Windows administration、Kubernetes/container orchestration、virtualization(inc hypervisor) and security.

  • Experience engaging CSPs with price/performance and TCO comparisons; ability to build benchmark plans and executive narratives。

  • Ability to articulate AI software stack/frameworks(PyTorch/TensorFlow/ONNX/TVM etc)

  • Executive relationship management with CSPs,OEM/ODM,SI/ISV and telco carriers

  • Strong communication in Japanese & English; business-level fluency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Track record launching data center products/solutions in Japan; wins with hyperscaler, MNOs, Industrial, Automotive, Robotics customers

  • Deep knowledge of workload-specific optimization(LLM , RAG, CV, Graph processing , database)

  • Leadership that is hands-on, creative, and collaborative; ability to operate at high speed and multi-task

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 10+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
OR
High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
