Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.

Summary:
Qualcomm's SoC Validation Team (SVE - System Validation & Emulation) is looking for self-motivated engineers who will be part of bare-metal SoC validation framework team and will have the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug system/IP validation frameworks for bare-metal and lightweight RTOS environments to support SoC validation (Pre-Si and Post-Si).

  • Develop and maintain scalable framework components, including adaptation layers for heterogeneous cores and backend system infrastructure IPs/modules.

  • Automate nightly, weekly, and full regression runs for hardware/software validation to ensure continuous quality.

  • Integrate static analysis tools and manage release/configuration for a robust Continuous Integration (CI) environment.

  • Collaborate with IP and SoC validation teams to deliver comprehensive validation features across the framework for both SoC and IP.


Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering/Computer Science or related field

  • 8 to 14 years of working experience


Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Embedded Software architecture and development using C, C++, and Assembly.

  • Proficiency in low-level programming in C and assembly, including C-assembly interworking.

  • Solid understanding of CPU architectures (ARMv8/ARMv9, x86, PowerPC), including interrupt handling, cache coherency, and I/O coherency.

  • Knowledge of SoC architecture with multicore/multiprocessor systems, SMP, and heterogeneous cores.

  • Familiarity with Operating Systems, RTOS, and Linux kernel internals (multithreading, scheduling policies, locking mechanisms, virtual memory/MMU/paging).

  • Deep understanding of memory management, weakly ordered memory models, pipelining, and memory barriers.

  • Expertise in software build toolchains (compilers, Makefiles, linker/scatter files).

  • Proficiency with compilers/linkers (GCC, CLANG, RVDS, LLVM) and experience in code optimization and resolving linker issues.

  • Strong knowledge of Makefile syntax and ability to automate builds and manage dependencies.

  • Experience with JTAG interfaces/tools for hardware debugging.

  • Scripting skills in Python and Shell scripting.


Desired Skills

  • Exposure to SoC architecture paradigms (interconnects, power management) and pre-silicon emulation environments.

  • Experience with boot code development for ARM processors.

  • Hands-on experience in silicon enablement, silicon validation, and board bring-up on FPGA/emulation platforms and new SoC designs.

  • Familiarity with build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins) and creating automated pipelines.

  • Understanding of regression testing methodologies and ability to design and execute comprehensive test suites.

  • Proficiency in source code management tools (Perforce, Git, SVN)
