As Sr. Staff Design Micro-Architect in the Display IP team, you will be responsible for display architecture across multiple market segments including mobile, Automotive, compute, XR, and IoT. You will work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-site team of architects, designers and verification engineers to play a meaningful role in the definition, feature development, and commercialization of new display features across use cases.
You will:
- Participate in identifying key use cases and workloads showcasing the best of display IP
- Own core level display architecture definition for new features and use cases
- Define and document architectural features that scale across multiple markets
- Work with a cross-functional teams from display software, systems algorithm, as well as SoC and system performance/power teams.
- Collaborate with a team of SoC architects to define and represent display in end to end system level use cases
- Bring specifications to mature stage allowing design and implementation teams to actively engage
- Provide technical expertise and oversight through ASIC development and commercialization to ensure features meets defined end goals
- Make design protocol suggestions when required
- Trade-off different architectural options based on performance, power and area
- Define and patent novel architectures that drive industry leadership
- Utilize advanced problem solving and ASIC engineering practices to resolve complex architecture, design, or verification problems.
- Maintain regular communication with key team members to ensure continued alignment between team deliverables and product execution plan.
- Write technical documentation and provides technical expertise for design, project reviews, and project meetings to ensure team's best interest is represented
- Mentor and guide junior design engineers on the team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in architecting scalable features across multiple market segments
- Expertise in the following areas:
Power management, clocking, memory hierarchies, Network On Chip (NoC) bus interconnects, caching architecture, security and access control, virtualization - Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science with foundation in VLSI concepts
- 10+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience
- Experience designing multimedia processing blocks such as Display, Camera, Video and/or Graphics.
- Familiarity with display interface standards such as DisplayPort, DSC, MIPI, HDMI
- Experience with embedded software development
- Comfortable making technical and business presentations to a wide range of audiences, including to senior management.
- Ability to independently drive activities/project with internal and external cross-functional teams
- Highly motivated detail oriented team player who possesses outstanding analytical skills
- Ability to deliver to work in fast-paced environment with multiple engagements in parallel
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
