General Summary:
The role of this Senior Director (or above) in sales shall be in Developing, Managing, and growing Qualcomm business scale in the SEA region. His/Her role will be to be a true leader in energizing the entire Team in the region to adopt an earnest, hungry and curious attitude to businesses. Building and keeping relationship to new, existing as well as emerging Customers will be key.
This Person must have the highest level of energy and sense of urgency to continuously explore and reach out to potentials as well as being able to make fast and fruitful decision on what to deep dive into, and what to leave at the wayside.
The ability to maintain and keep growing the Team capability to close deals, find new ones, bridging the close relationships with the other Qualcomm regions, as well as with QC various BUs, HQ and all Colleagues will be critical asset.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing and growing Qualcomm businesses in Vietnam (Priority), Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand via direct, indirect as well as other means (such as Solution as a service)
- Responsible to manage and influence Existing, New as well as emerging Customers fitting into all criteria of growth engines for the region (Direct, indirect, services etc..) so that these Customers will adopt Qualcomm solutions and achieve design wins and long term growth objectives with the said Customers. Priority Countries will be as per the regional strategy intents and articulations
- Be a key influencer and Actor to bring awareness of the regional business initiatives, wins, looses and other shareable ideas to the other regions. And in doing so – assist in the globalization of the solutions and products coming from this region to the world. In short, this Person must play a key role in the growth of our Customers (Direct, indirect and so on)
- This Leader must play a key role in motivating, uniting the various and diverse Teams in the region and beyond such that committed results are well executed in Teams but at the same time, not shy from making tough decision, sometimes could be of minority view BUT the ability to stand up on it will be key
- Work within the matrix organization that are usually the case in the region and the corporation but turn it into an advantage
- OWN Customer relationship and Internal key Leaders relationship
Skills/Experience
The Person will have had extensive, demonstratable experience in developing relationships at large, complex organizations regionally and globally. Particular traits in working in developing countries with expressed achievements will be key.
Knowledge and existing relationship with Key players in the SEA region will be of added advantage. As we will need a person that can hit the road running. Again reference to the key Markets of major interest : Vietnam – by all means the most crucial, followed by Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand the Philippines etc…
Demonstratable business achievements in the form of commercial achievements, market share gains, design wins are important yardsticks. The Person must be able to demonstrate expressed example of taking an idea and turning it into a business success, in a region that are peppered with diversity, uncertainties and nascent development.
These business gains will be expressed in term of revenue goals, design wins achieved, market share progress and organization demonstratable strengths and earnest.
- 12+ years of sales, product management or business development of complex technology products in compute businesses with knowledge of global dynamics of ODMs, OEMs and certification
- Strategic account management and sales expertise, the ability to manage change and the desire to operate effectively across organizations and customers. Especially in the SEA region. Added advantage if Vietnam is a key locale of the Candidate
- Experience in gaining design wins with complex Customers
- Deep knowledge and experience in building complex financial models that create win-win situations for Qualcomm and our customers
- Ability to fathom and be able to pitch Qualcomm level of technical wares will be key. We are not looking for an Einstein, but we need someone who can arculate what Einstein stands for and be able to get tractions, interest and respects with the Customers will be key
- Proficient and detailed understanding of supply chain, product development and marketing of ICT type products will be important
- Experience in negotiating and managing MDF, NRE and component pricing with large consumer electronic OEMs
- Ability to communicate, educate and evangelize both internally and externally
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Advantage will be in Vietnamese and of course English.
- Creative problem solving with strong analytical skills
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business or technology preferred
- 20+ years in product marketing, sales, or product management in the ICT industry
- 5+ years in a leadership role
