General Summary:

As a Director within Qualcomm’s automotive organization, you will provide strategic leadership for the global verification and validation (V&V) function supporting advanced ADAS/AD platforms and customer deployments. You will define the long-term vision, frameworks, and operational models that ensure consistent, scalable, and compliant validation capabilities across regions and product lines. This role requires deep technical expertise, cross functional influence, and the ability to align internal teams and external partners around a unified validation strategy. You will collaborate with Systems, Architecture, Safety, Test, Customer Engineering, and regional execution teams to ensure delivery excellence and validation integrity for complex, safety critical solutions powering next generation mobility. You bring a hands on, outcomes driven mindset and a strong “can do” leadership style, backed by a proven track record of driving tangible, measurable results in complex, multi stakeholder environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in validation, systems, quality, automotive, robotics, or embedded domains.

  • 7+ years of people leadership, including managing managers and global teams.

  • Proven experience shaping and implementing large‑scale validation strategies in safety‑critical or highly regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with executive leadership and external customers.

  • Experience owning multi‑million‑dollar budgets and directing investment across people, infrastructure, and tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Own the global verification and validation strategy and framework for AD solutions, setting long‑term direction and ensuring alignment across customer programs and internal roadmaps.

  • Define and standardize test system architectures and workflows across HIL, SIL, real‑vehicle, simulation, cloud, and data‑driven environments, ensuring scalability and global consistency.

Cross‑Functional Governance

  • Establish governance models, policies, and best practices that ensure disciplined validation, high coverage, and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

  • Partner with Systems, Safety, Software and Customer Engineering teams to ensure requirements are measurable, testable, and fully traceable through validation and sign‑off.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive development of reusable validation asset libraries (test cases, scenarios, datasets, KPIs, reporting frameworks) to accelerate program onboarding and customer deployments.

  • Ensure complete end‑to‑end traceability from system and software requirements to validation outcomes and certification deliverables.

Global Execution Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate test execution strategies across global regions, ensuring efficiency, alignment, reuse of infrastructure, and avoidance of duplication.

  • Build strong partnerships with teams across Asia, Europe, and the US.

Innovation & Automation

  • Advance automation and continuous validation practices, including CI/CD pipeline integration, cloud‑based test execution, and early identification of integration issues.

  • Drive investment in next‑generation tools, processes and test infrastructures that scale with customer demands.

Safety & Compliance

  • Collaborate with Safety leadership to ensure validation evidence is aligned with safety case development and regulatory submissions.

  • Promote industry‑best practices for safety‑critical validation (e.g., ISO 26262, SOTIF).

Level of Responsibility

  • Leads managers and senior technical leaders across multiple global sites.

  • Owns strategy, organizational planning, and investment decisions for the global V&V organization.

  • Accountable for budgets, staffing, tooling roadmaps, and infrastructure planning.

  • Influences high‑impact decisions with executive leadership and key customers.

  • Oversees complex, multi‑phase initiatives requiring cross‑organizational alignment and strong risk management.

  • Holds substantial responsibility for the validation quality and safety integrity of customer‑deployed platforms.
