General Summary:

Qualcomm Technologies is seeking a tech-savvy, self-motivated Communications professional to support our rapidly growing automotive business unit on the Product Communications Team. This role works closely with Marketing, Product Management, as well as our Global Communications teams to elevate Qualcomm’s leadership in the automotive industry. You’ll help shape and drive communications strategies around key product milestones, customer announcements, industry moments, as well as thought-leadership and visionary opportunities that highlight Qualcomm’s accelerating impact on the global automotive ecosystem.

This role offers a front row seat to the transformation of the auto industry, as Qualcomm powers next generation digital cockpits, ADAS/AD solutions, connectivity, and vehicle architecture innovation. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree and 6+ years of Public Relations or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Work with senior team members and agency resources on the planning and execution of communications plans supporting product launches, news announcements, events, ongoing storytelling and media/analyst/influencer relations and digital/social programs.

· Craft communications assets such as press releases, FAQs, pitches, reactive statements and manage media lists.

· Build and maintain relationships with North America press, analysts, and creators, as well as manage incoming media inquiries, recommend responses, and content.

· Provide support including scheduling, staffing and other logistics.

· Participate in market update and strategy conversations about the automotive industry and watch trends to identify opportunities to engage with a news cycle.

· Collaborate with other PR, marketing, digital and product management teams to strategize, brainstorm new ideas and execute integrated programs.

This is an office-based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the Company's onsite work policy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
    OR
  • Associate degree or equivalent and 5+ years of related Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism experience
    OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Experience:
    4+ years of communications or public relations experience within the automotive or technology sectors, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex projects independently.

  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent writing, interpersonal, and presentation abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.

  • Media Relations:
    Experience engaging with media, analysts, and/or influencers; skilled in planning and executing media events and product launches. Strong attention to detail and comfort working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

  • Technical Proficiency:
    Demonstrated ability to use computer applications and digital/AI tools—such as Microsoft Copilot, Writer, Adobe Workfront, or equivalent—to optimize workflows. Competent in leveraging social media platforms for professional communication.

  • Software Expertise:
    Advanced PowerPoint skills and proficiency across the Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree or higher strongly preferred.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$109,600.00 - $164,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
