Job Overview
Qualcomm’s Server SoC Performance Team is responsible for system-level performance analysis, validation, and sign-off across next-generation server-class SoCs. The Senior Engineer role focuses on hands-on execution, debugging, and analysis of complex performance behaviors across pre-silicon and early silicon platforms, working closely with Architecture, DV, Power, and Software teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system-level performance analysis and validation using pre-silicon platforms such as RUMI, emulation, and simulation, and post-silicon platforms where applicable.
- Develop, execute, and maintain performance workloads, vectors, and use cases representing real customer scenarios.
- Analyze and debug performance bottlenecks across CPU, memory, NoC, IO, and power domains.
- Collect and interpret performance counters, traces, and profiling data.
- Collaborate with Architecture, DV, Power, Clocks, and Software teams.
- Contribute to performance sign-off documentation and reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4+ years of industry experience in SoC/System performance or validation.
- Solid understanding of SoC architecture, memory systems, and interconnects.
- Experience with Linux/Android environments and scripting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pre-silicon platforms (RUMI, emulation, FPGA prototyping).
- Exposure to multimedia, graphics, or high-bandwidth subsystems.
- Preferred experience in Server-class / Data Center SoC architecture, including cache-coherent interconnects (e.g., CHI/ACE-class fabrics), scalable memory hierarchies, and high-bandwidth IO subsystems (PCIe/CXL-class), with ability to translate architecture features into performance sign-off metrics and system-level debug.
Level of Responsibility
- Works under general supervision with moderate impact on schedules and execution.
