General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking an attorney to join its in-house legal team in San Diego, focusing on supporting its growing Industrial IoT (IE-IoT) business, which includes robotics, as well as its Connectivity, Broadband and Networking (CBN) business. Qualcomm’s existing IE-IoT/CBN in-house legal teams work on a wide range of matters across the businesses---from drafting/negotiating complex commercial agreements to advising clients on legal issues related to customer/supplier transactions, SaaS related matters, AI, privacy, M&A due diligence matters, as well as safety-related and regulatory matters. This role requires a self-starter who is eager to learn and who possesses sophisticated negotiating and drafting skills that can be utilized for all aspects of commercial contracting and lifecycle management across various software and hardware technologies. The ideal candidate will have IE-IoT (including robotics)/CBN technology and intellectual property backgrounds.

This role is located in San Diego, CA and requires onsite work (5 days a week).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate degree or international equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a law firm or in-house.
• Active bar license to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be practicing (or ability to obtain upon hiring).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a nationally recognized, top-tier ABA-accredited law school.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a top tier law firm.

  • Active bar license to practice law in the state or jurisdiction where the employee will be practicing (or ability to obtain upon hiring).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a nationally recognized, top-tier ABA-accredited law school.

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience as counsel at a top tier law firm or in house.

  • Experience with technology-based commercial transactions, preferably in the IE-IoT and/or CBN fields.

  • Experience with addressing legal issues pertaining to AI models, along with the data that trains these models.

  • Intellectual property background and experience.

  • Can work independently, but collaboratively.

  • Self-starter who is intellectually curious and has a desire to learn.

General Responsibilities:

  • Contract drafting, negotiations, support and management for IE-IoT and CBN technologies, including the related SaaS businesses.

  • Merger & Acquisition due diligence support for IE-IoT/CBN.

  • Litigation support for the IE-IoT and CBN businesses.

  • Support business client with IE-IoT/CBN safety, security and regulatory matters.

  • Enable emerging businesses while mitigating risk.

  • Support team members on various projects, IE-IoT/CBN regulatory conformance and process improvements.

  • Team mentality where we win and lose together and no task is too big or too small.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$139,200.00 - $208,800.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
