Senior Routing Applications Engineer

Background:

Selector’s data platform is used by customers to store data collected from their infrastructure, which includes large service provider networks. Applications are to be built using this data to provide custom insights using the routing data. This engineer will be responsible for designing and building these applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Closely interact with product managers and customer accounts to understand network challenges.
  • You will apply your routing knowledge in the areas of BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and ISIS to build solutions.
  • Closely interact with other backend and frontend developers to implement and integrate solutions.
  • Responsible to run demos of the solution to customers

Required Skill Set:

  • Education – BS/MS in CS or EE
  • 10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer with network protocol programming.
  • Strong programming skills in Python. In addition, C or Go experience is also preferred.
  • Experience working with technologies including Kubernetes with container runtimes such as Docker.
  • Routing protocol expertise: In-depth knowledge of at least one routing protocol, such as OSPF, BGP, or RIP, including the protocol's configuration, operation, and optimization.
  • Experience with databases including SQL, InfluxDB, and other NoSQL systems.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the flexibility to work with a globally distributed team and customers.

Compensation

  • The salary for this role is $200,000 - $220,000 plus bonus and equity. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, and may vary from the amount listed.
